Hello! 

     Goos to say hello! It's been awhile since i have been on. Between having a stent pout in my heart and my wife's cancer, we have been pretty busy just coping with things lately. Hope your lives have been better than that.

     It's supposed to be spring but all our relatives and friends back in the NE couldn't attest to that. It's been a hard winter in a number of ways. We have had sev real people in our family with cancer scares this past year and are looking for a better 2026.

     The writing keeps me sane. On the 8th The Slumbering Dragon Inn book. I hope you all like them. Being  a writer is a fragile thing. We want people to love what we write, yet we try and write what we know or think about.

     The sixth book in The Slumbering Dragon Inn series is two thirds done and it's about Valentine's Day! A Valentine's Day wrapped around a mystery and some action! Hope your holidays are wonderful.

     It';s been forever since I stopped by and left a note. I have been working hard on the new series, The Slumbering Dragon Inn Mystery Series, and I'm working on the sixth book now. But i have also been involved in having a stent placed in my heart. 99 percent blockage. And 36 courses of cardia rehab. Along with that comes dizziness and shortness of breath and changing meds to get them right so my body can stand them.

     Getting old sucks...don't let anybody tell you different. Better than the alternative however.

     We've had two weddings (granddaughters) and a funeral, brother-in-law. 

     More than ever, I appreciate all of you who read my little stories. They mean a great deal to me and I put a lot of me into them.

     Sorry I have been away sod long. I was finishing up one series, The Falls small town mystery series, and staring a new one, The Slumbering Dragon Inn Mysteries. Been converting kindle versions to paperback and trying to keep up with writing at the same time.I feel a little sad to leave the falls...but I may return...you never know.

     I hope that you and yours have a wonderful, caring and eventful new year with lots of friends, family and love. Please be watching Amazon for word of the new series...and as always, I appreciate you, my readers, more than you can know.

     I'mm seventy-seven and feeling my age, but Carolyn and I try and keep busy and active. I wish you all the very best this 2025! Stay safe, believe in your selves and the people around you.

 A New Beginning

     The 53rd story in The Falls small town mystery series will be the last (? Never say never!) of the series. It will come out in digital form soon. It will end with the marriage of Cash Green and Ericka Yamato, which has building for years. There will also be some harrying moments the day before the wedding. The folks in The Falls and I hope you enjoy it.

     There will be a new series coming in early to late summer. It will be a cozy mystery set in a small town in Vermont with two Scottish sisters who run a rambling, Victorian B&B. The first story will set the scene for, hopefully, many more to come. I am at the moment fleshing out the characters and landscape. I hope you all will give the new series a try. More about that later. No title yet...but I'm thinking about it.

     Here's hoping you are all safe a sound. With all the natural disasters and terrible weather going around, it's hard to know anymore. The politics are heating up again and I hate the way we treat each other. Disrespect and nastiness should never be a part of politics. We should be able to disagree with respect and politeness. The intrusion of nastiness comes from a few thoughtless and uncaring idiots who should crawl back under the rock they came from.

 January 11

     Thursday, January 11th...hope this day finds you well. I have a doctor's video appointment today...and my wife, Carolyn, has a knee replacement tomorrow. I had a breathing test on Monday and she had a pre-procedure meeting with her doctor earlier in the week. Guess this is Doctor's week at our house.

     Finished the writing of Book 52, The Falls: Powder. That should give you a clue as to what it's about. Now comes the editing and then publishing as a digital book. Then I'll start the next Falls book and within a short time start editing The Falls: Powder as a paperback. I wish there were two of me. One to edit, one to write. But then, the editor would probably be disgruntled because he wanted to write and the writer would feel a bit superior to the editor because they were the 'creative' one. Probably better there's just one of me.

     The holidays are over and several new tiny houses have been added to the village on the landing. We made a journey back to the NE to spends Christmas season with two of our kids, several grandkids and even a great grandchild. Also had a grandchild over to the house to celebrate her birthday along with our daughter and son-in-law. Family is the real center of life... friends too.

     Enjoy the after holiday quiet. (Along with the bills that need paying)

                                                             Christmas Break

     Well, we are on Christmas break. I wonder who first came up with the term ‘break’? Not vacation, not hiatus…but break. Anyway…here’s hoping your last few months since my last post has been good ones for you. We have had a number of issues, but then, we are getting older. I was in the hospital and had antibiotic IVs for eight days in a row due to a wound on my leg caused by me missing the grunge as I stepped out of the raised bed. Been to the ER several times as well.

     I’m working on book 52 in The Falls series and working on editing two of the paperbacks fore the novels. I have begun to feel the people in The Falls are more familiar to me than the people around us in Florida. Our family though, as always, is our most wonderful treasures.

     Hope your new year is bright and caring. Be kind to people. The folks in The Falls would appareciate it. Takes care…thank you for being part of The Falls…

Just Popping In

     Hoping you all are keeping hydrated and cool during these unusually hot summer days. Just letting you know that I am in the process of editing the paperback of The Falls: The Curse #47 of the series. Just finished editing and publishing the paperback of the third in The Dragon World Series, Dragon World: Dragon Mist. It's now on sale at Amazon.com. 

     I am busily working on #51 of The Falls series and that should be published as a Kindle version in the next month or so. As I get older...I seem to work faster. Wonder why that is?

     Take care of yourselves...don't let the world's news and idiocies get you down. Remember...you are the only one who can bring you happiness and satisfaction.

G'Day

     Just using the Aussie greeting because there's an Aussie...actually two of them...in my new Falls novel. Crikey! Kinda' fun!

     Working on the digital number 51 and just published #46 Assassin and Volume #3 in Dragon World Series, Dragon Mist. 

     Had a funeral this past month. A cousin and friend I've known for all my 75 years.

     Hope you are all stating as cool as possible with all this heat. Climate change is here...make no mistake. If you deny it you're as dumb as Alfy Norton's hog Brutus.

 Forgive My Absence

     Sorry I have been gone so long away from here. I have been working furiously on writing, editing The Falls series (digital and paperback) and on editing and converting the Dragon World Series into paperback. That's not an excuse, but combine that with the rest ofd life and it starts to add up.

     I'm working on the 51st novel in The Falls small town mystery series, and the fiftieth is out as a Kindle version. The Falls: Changes.I am editing The Falls: Assassin to convert into paperback as well as the Dragon World: Dragon Mist, the third in the Dragon World Series, as well. 

     Needless to say, the world keeps spinning faster and faster. As you get older (I am now 75) it takes some effort to keep up with it. That and not being an expert in technology doesn't help get things done as well.

     When I retired in 2009, I was pretty tech savvy. Not so much anymore. Now DirecTV, which we've had for 25-30 years, is no longer the owner of NFL Sunday Ticket (You-Tube is) I had to buy a piece of that 'app' om my TV to watch our out of market games! Colts and Seahawks. Grrr! The world is changing so fast I can't keep up. And at times...I don't even try. I am after all, just an old storyteller, who loves to write stories for all of you to read.

     Take care and try and see if you can keep up with the world out there! My love to you all...and thanks for reading my little stories.

 Just a quick thought

     I am still having problems with Facebook. It won't allow me to post ads toothier facebook pages. I also hate the new version.and have switched back to classic version...which they say is going away soon. I sometimes wonder why people have to screw around with things that work in the name of change.

     Just a reminder, The Falls: The Curse is the latest of The Falls small town mystery series in digital form and the Falls: The Bully is the latest paperback that's out. Working on the next one, about halfway through. I write each day, while I eat breakfast at a standup desk on my iMac 24". I use Word and then transfer to a template that my friend Eileen Shannon created for me when I create the KDP paperback.

 Hey There!

     Here's hoping your day is going well. I have been in Facebook Jail for a month now. Something is really off. I got sent there for simply posting my latest book on Facebook web pages such as Passion for Books, Amazon Kindle, Kindle Books, etc. 

    I know they've changed the rules, but I'm at a loss. Guess I'll figure it out. But what's objectionable about posting an ad for a mystery? Don't get it. And there's no easy way of contacting them, which is just wrong.

     Anyway, since then the 47th digital story has come out and I'm trying to find ways to get the word out there. I have joined Instagram and MeWe. Not my choice...but ways to get out ads.

     The new story is The Falls: The Curse, and it's available at the Kindle Store on Amazon.com. It starts out as being a great day in The falls. Then people start noticing that two very prominent citizens are missing. Then it all goes sideways.

 Facebook Jail

     Well I have been in Facebook jail for nearly three weeks now. For posting ads of my latest The Falls book, no less. The Falls: Assassin. Maybe it's the word assassin. Who knows. And there really is no easy way to contact them to complain. I have marked the 'disagree'
circle but they also state that they don't have enough people to check it out.

     So if you aren't seeing my ads on Facebook recently...that's why. I will be back. In the meantime, I have now started up Instagram and MeWe accounts. (Shakes my head.) All I want to do is write stories. The world is a strange place nowadays my friends.

     So, enjoy the blistering heat and know that some day soon, The Falls will be returning to a Facebook page near you!

Good Morning...

     Surprise! I'm actually adding a post! Amazing, huh? I'm in the midst of starting a new story and editing The Falls: Italian Connection for paperback. Busy as usual. I'm patterned. Writing in the morning while i eat breakfast, edit in the afternoon after my wife Carolyn and I eat lunch and watch a show or movie we have taped. I have been painting all the trim and doors, giving them a fresh new look. A little bit every day. 

I have found that this last bout with an upper respiratory infection has left me a bit sort on stamina and breath. Took awhile to get over and two different antibiotics and steroids along with nebulizing treatments. My lungs are weak from having asthma since I was five and living back in Vermont for the first forty-four years of my life. I try not to let that keep me from doing the things I like and need to do.

Enough about that. You would think that after writing 46 volumes on The Falls I would be running out of ideas and energy. But not so far. The little town is my special place. A plan e where the folks live and laugh and love and even though they might squabble, they always support each other in the end. Considering what the world is really like right now...it's a calming place to go.

Hope your days are special. Stay safe, Covid isn't done with us yet, so use your common sense.

      I know...I know...it's been forever. Lots of work, lots of stuff going on with Covid, new babies, trips to the ER and other stuff thrown it. Just stopping by to let you know that book 47 The Falls: Assassin is out in Kindle and that book 42 The Falls Vandalism and Heraldry is out in paperback! Hope you are all doing well.

      We took several trips last fall and winter, masks, wiping everything down and were lucky not to contract anything. As this new year begins to define itself, I must tell you how heartbroken I am for Ukraine. The brutality and cruelty of Putin shocks and reviles me. Better the man hand never been born. As you know, my stories always aim for happy endings. I truly believe that's the world should be...and could be if people did the right things.

        We need to stick together...the majority off decent, caring people, and stand up to the bullies, the thugs and the dictators in all phases of our lives. If I had my wish...we would all stand in front of those less fortunate and weak and protect them.

 Good News!

     The 42nd volume of The Falls small town mystery series is now in the Kindle Store! The Falls: Vandalism and Heraldry is now available in the digital version at Amazon.com! The folks in The Falls and I sure hope you like it!

     The paperback version of Book 39, The Falls: Special Delivery, should be available in a couple of weeks! The folks from The Falls and I have just begun to collaborate on Book 43, The Falls: Italian Connection.

 Dear Friends and Readers of The Falls,

     I do apologize for such a long time in-between posts. I won't blame it on Covid, because it's the fault of an old writer trying to balance a number of balls at the same time. Me. At this moment I am working on Book #42 in The Falls small town mystery series while editing the paperback version of #39, Special Delivery and transferring #40, The Reckoning onto a template for paperback publication. Not to mention playing with my new pole cutter and planting beans, squash and tomatoes.

     The folks in The Falls are quietly going about getting their vaccinations and wearing their masks. The town council has decreed that masks will be worn at all times and that social distancing will be strictly enforced. They didn't really need to because the folks in The Falls are a common sense and caring group as a general rule and they all knew it was the best interest of everyone. No protestors here. 

     We are nearly 93% vaccinated completely now and only 16 people have had the virus. Of those two dies. Merl Harrison, 89 from just down the road outside the village and Dedra Murphy, 47, who worked at the Feed and Seed. They will be missed.

     We hope all of you are taking the right precautions and doing what's responsible for everyone around you. We're sure you are. After all, unless I'm terribly mistaken, you like The Falls and are one of us in heart and mind.

     The baby birds in the nest in our shrub by the front door had a rough time with the storm yesterday. Carolyn and I are hoping they are okay.

     I promise I will work at leaving smaller gaps between posts. My apologies once again. Stay safe. Take care of those you love and return to The Falls whenever you can!

Just Published!

     The Falls: Special Delivery, 39th in The Falls small town mystery series, was published as an ebook yesterday, July 29th! The folks in The Falls and I are hoping you'll enjoy it. On the paperback end of the business, TheFalls: Deadly Deviation (#37), is now out in paperback. 

     Covid 19 has been keeping us all a bit on the nervous side. I have diabetes, asthma and am 72, so I'm a triple threat possible customer for the bug. I had something in January and February...upper respiratory...that knocked me for a loop. Never been so sick. My wife and I are wondering if that was the Corona virus.

     The world seems to be crazy right now, between the election and Covid and trying to understand why people seem to be so mean-spirited to each other. That kind of attitude wouldn't fly in The Falls. The folks would sit 'em down and have a long talk with the offending parties.

     My advice...keep caring about the ones you love. Be kind. Find other things to keep you from watching too much news coverage and listening to politicians who don't really care about anything but their re-elections.

     In the meantime...the folks in The Falls and I are here for you. Enjoy the new book and remember...make the world a little nicer for others each and every day!

Corona Virus

     We now have a new normal. My wife and I are sheltering in place. We are both in our mid-seventies and I have asthma and issues with my lungs. We are trying to stay to do what all Americans need to do...stay away from people and not spread the possibility of contracting the coronavirus.

     It's a scary time...for all of us. We need to be kind. We need to be patient and we need to listen to the scientists, not the politicians. We need to stay home and wait it out. When we do go out we take precautions. Like yesterday. My wife went to the grocery store. When she came back, I got my gloves on and went out to the garage...wiped down each item before bringing it in. Then mu wife sprayed down the bags she used to bring them home with Lysol. She also sprayed Lysol in the inside of the car.

     The new normal. But it will take everyone doing those kinds of things to make the virus slow down and eventually run its course. If only some of us do that while others go out and do whatever they want, it will take much longer. And those that disobey the rules the scientists are telling us will threaten the lives of many more by their actions.

     Stay safe. Everyone. Do your part. The folks in The Falls would. I have it on good authority.
